Iran’s National Carper Center has invited 100 noted businessmen from 60 countries to attend the 18th Iranian Carpet Exhibition slated for September 23-29. According to a report by the center, the event seeks to introduce Persian carpet and promote its export. The exhibit was supposed to be held in August but was postponed due to its coincidence with the fasting month of Ramadan. Persian carpet is an essential part of Persian art and culture. Carpet-weaving is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished manifestations of Persian culture and art, and dates back to ancient Persia. In recent times Iranian carpets have been facing fierce competition from other countries producing copies of original Iranian designs. |
